How to find the beat frequency between two waves

Beats occur when two waves with slightly different frequencies interfere, creating a periodic fluctuation in loudness. The script wavesbeat.pl can find when two waves intersect along their summed areas. The script iterates by slightly incrementing the frequency of one wave, then get the intersection of both waves along their summed areas, hence locating these points of intersection where the beats occur.
